Ted, I found this bit of a story on the nefarious chads on the floor. I stand by my assessment of whinitude on this one.

This morning Republicans began
complaining about chads, the scraps
of paper that hang from a punch hole
in a ballot, which had fallen to the floor. At the request of the
Republicans, sheriffs' deputies began collecting the scraps of paper
that had fallen on the floor.

Deputies collected 78 in all, placing them inside a manila envelope
marked "evidence," Ms. Canedy reported.

Ed Pozzuoli, the chairman of the Broward Republican Party said the
stray chads were an example of the inaccuracy of hand recounts.

"It calls into question whether the integrity of the ballot has been
maintained," he said.

But Suzanne Gunsberger, a Democrat and member of the Broward
County canvassing board, said that assessment was ridiculous. She
said the chads that were collected from the floor were already
hanging from ballots anyway and would have been legal votes in any
case and would not change a vote. She also said there was no
evidence the chads found on the floor were from the presidential
election or other ballot questions.
