A $50,000,000 class action lawsuit & a SLAPP lawsuit do affect the stock price!
I believe both lawsuits affect the stock price because rumour and uncertainty always cause employees and customers concern. For example, the SLAPP suit is nearly two years old and because it is not even close to being resolved it remains an issue for discussion in which productivity is affected. VSEA in fact admits through its team of attorneys and in depositions that this is indeed the case and frequently cries that productivity is lower, and litigation costs are too high. Therefore, the company is for two years now not performing as well as it can. The more recent class action suit alleges weeks of invasive bathroom videotaping and the destruction of evidence. As long as Varian denies any wrongdoing including the capturing of events inside a bathroom for 800 hours or so it behooves the plaintiffs in this class action matter to prove otherwise and seek justice - retribution. Trust me - it is only a matter of time, perhaps years, in which the whole truth will be made public. In the meantime, the company is disrupted, but disrupted only because of their unwillingness to deal with their horrible act. Rest assured, the lawsuits will not disappear and discovery will only make matters worse for VSEA and those managers like Susan B. Felch who are responsible for this incredibly costly mess.
That is my opinion.
