So it is all a question of age? Perhaps there is a member who is 100; he should know the most.

You've been a professional trader for what, one year? According to your profile you are 25 years old. Aren't you a little inexperienced to pontificate with such generalities?

When John Marks Templeton acts bearish or when Warren Buffett says stocks will underperform bonds, that's one thing. What you say is another.

I been doing this for 3 years...so tell me where I'm wrong if you have more experience.

Hmmm.. lets see.. since Joshua's brilliant call on Nov 16th the nasd has fallen an additional 30%. According to him.. tradermike is a fool because he lacks the "years" of experience needed to know how to buy and hold stocks. This "inexperienced trader" needs more substantial credibility to pontificate(joshua's words for big talk) such generalities. Joshua you are so brilliant.. please what do we do now.. should we continue to hold or sell now? I bet you would recommend holding.. since all stocks eventually make a comeback.. we won't count stocks like XRX where u have basically broken even if u had bought the stock in the 70s. 30 yrs later.. and you've broken even.. but no.. you should always buy and hold.. because in the long run.. you will make a killing.. we won't talk about the stocks that go bankrupt.. oh no.. because those don't count.. just keep buying and holding and you will be rich. Don't believe all the hype that the GE's and CSCO's and MSFT's are 1 in a 1000 shots.. oh no.. every stock you purchase will one day be worth oodles and oodles.. just keep holding.. Joshua.. lets face it.. most stocks do not appreciate over the long term. Indexes however do.. I believe that you can buy an index over the long term and hold forever.. but individual stocks.. no matter how promising now, always has a tendency to go bust. I for one do not believe in your premise of buy and hold till hell freezes over.. because it doesn't work. Yeah yeah.. bring out your buffetts and your Peter Lynches.. they are the exceptions.. not the rule. oh yeah.. where have you been the last 2-3 weeks.. haven't posted once on this thread. I miss your wise cracking attitude on how stupid people are who are trying to time the market. Oh yes.. I have started to buy again.. just a little mind you.. because I think 1800 might be attainable.. but man oh man.. I for one sure am glad i was able to keep the 30% of my money from the last nasd slide.. I wonder if you faired as well.. oh let me guess.. u had all your money in the dow and safe cyclicals.. I bet you made money.. that is why you are so wise.. all hail Joshua.
