Albert, start at can mean the lower clock speed P4 is 1.4 GHz, followed by the 1.5. It could mean on the same day. Or, it could mean start at 1.4 only on Monday, to be followed by 1.5 later. Semantics.

Albert, <market cap should reflect only future (distributable) earnings and only future growth rate. You know - potential>

I think the key word here is "should."

If AMD is going to convince an unbelieving market that it deserves a bigger P/E ratio, they're going to have to execute unbelievably well over the next year or so. Excuses and apologetics by AMD cheerleaders aren't going to help. Sweet talk coming from Jerry "Volume is the antidote to Intel's venom" Sanders isn't going to help, either.

Mad Albert - Re: "market cap should reflect only future (distributable) earnings and only future growth rate. You know - potential "

Maybe AMD is seriously over-valued, when you put it like that !

I can understand your frustration - having sold your Intel in early 1995 - and having bought AMD with that money when AMD was at about $17.50.

A lousy $2.5/share return over 5 years has really hurt - huh "Dash" ?

Mad Albert - Re: "intel does not exactly sound like they are releasing 2GHz at launch "

Let me put it to you in AMD parlance - so you can understand.

Intel is sandbagging - they could release a 2 GHz Pentium 4 ANY TIME THEY WANT TO - but the faultering competitiveness of AMD makes it unnecessary at this time.

There - you do understand this 'AMDroid-speak' - huh, Albert?
