Gary, from Bell South:Despite the rapid increase in DSL customer growth, BellSouth said it would not increase its capital spending plans. Instead, it will shift its spending toward its new, fast-growing businesses and away from slow-growing, traditional telephone services. ------------- SOOOO, given that virtually every carrier plans to shift its spending away from traditional telephone services toward data services, which run over fiber optics networks, where is ANY evidence of a fiber optic slowdown???? Every fiber optic company, including NT has forecasted strong demand and continued growth. I WANT TO SEE SOME EVIDENCE OF A SLOWDOWN! Please, I'm begging to see some evidence. Why can't any of these freaking analysts understand that cutting capital spending does not mean cutting every areas? The fact that spending is shifting over toward data related services could in fact ACCELERATE growth of fiber optics!
