Chapters Online cuts 73 jobs

TORONTO - Chapters Online is cutting 73 jobs as a way of reducing its operating costs. The company is the e-commerce arm of the giant Canadian bookseller Chapters.

The job cuts will affect staff that produces features for its website. For example, Chapters Online will no longer generate original articles on specific topics such as interviews with authors and filmmakers.

A spokesman for Chapters Online says those features weren't widely used by online shoppers.

However, the company will continue to use and post articles such as book or music reviews written by newspapers.

I know many many people who have lost $100k's in the past couple of months. That has got to cut into demand for many non basic items.

You think??? You are correct. I feel like I am fighting the market and then fighting the market after effects.

Where was I when a lot of people were long junk firms in 98 and 99? One just needed to throw a dart and they were a genious.
