Ratan, I saw the article but chose not to link to it. The author had previously, as in a few months ago, stated NOK would not pay royalties to Q for W-CDMA.

Simply highlighting W-CDMA is delayed and not pursuing all the global ramifications thereof is quite one-sided. Plus, if NOK continues to shun Q ASICs, maybe only NOK's role in W-CDMA is delayed.

3G as in wcdma may be delayed but the debt service is not. this is a fact. so these operators have a choice: go 3g cdma2000. what's the problem? this may sound like a simplistic comment, but just you watch a year from now, when those stupid operators are putting down all of their revenue to debt service to their respective governments, and shareholders are turning those companies upside down, demanding heads to roll off, cdma200 will look like a gift from god to save their butts.

Another variation on the same theme is that, the Q has announced the of sampling of wcdma chipsets in the next 1 - 3 quarters. So, there you go: check mate...
