Thanks for the kind words Bigcue. I'm going to continue reading the abstracts 'till it's done. I'll continue to read patents of interest in detail. Moreover, #6132477 will be reread today as well. I'm wondering whether this "cookie cutter" technique has something to do with the delay in projected delivery of the German assembly machine. It's difficult for a layman to adjudge the claims made for this patent. Yet, it's hard to believe that Bellcore would mislead as to the implications for high yield, low cost production. It recommends a process which, when I was young and naive, had assumed the Lithium polymer manufacturers would be already doing. I, of course, have never tried to do this, myself. There were several problems; one had to do with driving metal particles into the lams, particularly on the edges of the cells. Bellcore has solved these problems according to the claims. Lots of other stuff to reexamine. If this is the direction Valence is taking, and it all proves out, the idea of producing low cost rechargeable Lithium polymer batteries is very close to reality. Whatever Valence is doing I hope they move along with it. One sidebar, battery cells produced with this equipment would not be a solid rectangle but have a a rhomboid shape(sloping sides). Probably would not be very noticeable though.

Bigcue2000:

I think different people focus on different things, according to their interests and specialty. This is what makes these boards so valuable. I have not looked at the patents, and have no interest in looking at the patents. I am neither a techie, or a lawyer. So I appreciate you and Dennis looking into this aspect of the company and giving us your opinion. Thanks.

What struck me this morning, while replacing a specialized battery in my dogs invisable fence coller, is all the incredable possibilities for VLNC's batteries. The purchase of the patent portfolio so that VLNC can license the technology rather than do JV's is nothing short of brilliant. The fact that VLNC/Lev have been able to successfully implement the strategy, while working on all of the manufacturing problems in NI, just increases my respect and admiration for Lev all the more. Once again, Lev is looking at what will increase the long term value of the company, rather than being focused on short term quarterly numbers.

One last point is the importance of Lev getting out there and promoting the stock now. This demonstrates his confidence in the company and the battery. He would not be out there telling the story if he was not 100% confident of both, and had people to back him up while he is on the road.
