Starbucks Profit Rises; Web Losses Bite

Richard -- you may be right about Minnesota, but you sure are wrong in general. Here's a map of how my local area, on the fulsome eastern side of the San Francisco Bay, voted for Clinton in '92. If you remember that far back, our hero polled far less than a majority nationally, a bare 51% in California and around 65% in the county. However, a quick glance at swdb.berkeley.edu should put paid your assertion that, "this doesnt happen. Even in the most liberal areas you might see 80/20." It does happen, right in my back yard. -mb

Richard -

...Several precincts came in 98% Gore 2% Bush. These weren’t statistically insignificant precincts by the way.
For example: Precinct 66 in Palm Beach came in 25 for Bush 1,203 for Gore.
This doesn’t happen. Even in the most liberal areas you might see 80/20....

Precinct 66 has the following registration data -

Democrat 84.6%
Republican 6.0%
Other 9.4%

White 2.4%
Black 94.1%
Hispanic 0.7%
Other 2.8%
