Gilder, Gagnon & Howe: No relation to George Gilder.

Perhaps not by blood, but certainly by association, as GG himself admitted:

Amazing coincidence in GG&H's holdings in AVNX:

You're saying it is random chance that Gilder, Gagnon, Howe buys 244,785 shares of AVNX on 3/31/00?
insidertrader.com.
This purchase represents 2/3 of all institutional buying in AVNX for the last quarter.
And according to you he reads your newsletter and thus invests in companies you mention. However, your newsletter mentions AVNX on April 24. So it was just a wild guess by GGH to invest $36,000,000 (245k shares x $150 price on 3/31) in AVNX ...

And then 3 weeks later, your newsletter mentions AVNX.
Mighty strong coincidence??? or not???

Based on the results of a "Gilder Gagnon and Howe" subject search here on SI, someone could do a PhD thesis on the coincidences of GG touts and the company's positions.

Other findings of interest, this time prompted by a comment in the WSJ:

Mr. Gilder also has personal pension money managed by Velocity Capital, a tech-oriented firm in Palo Alto, Calif., but he says he doesn't know the holdings in the portfolio.

A search on Insidertrader.com shows Andrew Kessler holds a substantial position in TSCM:

If I were James Cramer, I wouldn't mind having GG's pension fund manager on my staff (former columnist) or as a major shareholder.
