I am trying to research these Votomatic machines and it appears to me that these machines have been considered out of date for decades. The hanging chad problem affects something like 5% of the ballots. The ones that fall off can work their way into holes that were punched out. They also can jam the machine. I am trying to verify that they are still being made by the manufacturer, ES&S, but so far just go a voice mail.

But the weirdest thing is that the actual tallying seems to be done at a remote location, and the software can be programmed to count or not count votes.
