You're right- and I shouldn't have responded. It is an absolute waste of time to get involved with some of the people here and I try not to- From a woman's perspective- for what it's worth. There aren't many women around, though I think some of us lurk, and I've wondered if they have noticed this. It disturbs me how many men have expressed chauvinist views rather than intelligent commentary about the women in this drama-- Karen Hughes, K. Harris (although, to be fair, you all have been as hard on Gore's make-up job as HArris') and yet seem totally unaware of it. I have never been a feminist, but there is a real tendency of men to try to reduce a strong woman who suddenly has power by nasty allusions to her looks or her sexual preference. Janet Reno, Madeleine Albright, Hillary.. Unfortunately, many women are still responding to the sexual aspect of candidates too- I thought if I heard another female say Bill was "sexy" I would gag. Who cares! Can these people do the job!!! Ok- tantrum over. ANd I realize that men and women are ALWAYS going to have this tension between them. Can't fight biology- but we CAN fight allowing it to be part of our assessment of a person.
