Trout - I don't think you'd be pro-police if you lived in DC - what a mess that is.

<< My wife is an 18-year police veteran and is presently Chief of Police in our town. >>

I have a picture in my mind of your wedding ceremony. The pastor said "Do you take this woman to be your wife. However, you may remain silent, you are entitled to a lawyer, and anything you say may be held against you"! <g>

That move up to Chief must've brought a whole bunch of stress with it.

<< I believe in the 2nd Amendment, but not the extremes of machine guns, banana clips, etc. >>

I own three handguns. It is for hobby and safety. But, those who feel that they must be armed to protect themselves from the government, are nuts! If we ever need guns to protect us from the government, then our entire democratic system would be in ruins, freedom would be gone, and it will be too late for private guns.

<< Federal handgun licensing? Maybe I could support it if it was done correctly....and not by politicians like Clinton/Gore, Shumer, etc. >>

I agree. I'm totally opposed to Gore's stand on the "picture" licensing of all new gun owners.

I'd like to see a big push to lower prison cost. I'm also in favor of not providing free legal help to previously convicted felons. Why should we keep paying the legal costs for repeat offenders?

It sure will!

What a mess it will be if Harris certifies Bush as the winner tomorrow and then next week the Supreme Court orders the hand count totals included.

The Supreme Court said hand recounts can continue. To now say Harris can ignore the result would be a bit inconsistent, imo. Why let them keep counting if it's not going to count?

... Mezz - What a cluster####!
