Re: It is absurd to have all these counties continue to recount the vote by hand and yet not have the vote counted. Is that good for the country? The way this thing is headed is that Gore will probably pick up the necessary votes he needs to beat Bush in Florida by a hand recount but the votes won't count. That doesn't sound like a healthy situation to me. Actually, it is has quite dangerous implications down the road.

Quite the contrary! The ruling-out of extratime recounts will bring steadiness to the US's foremost ballot because it will DETER any such lawsuit tactics from happening again in future presidential elections!

DO YOU REALIZE that if Gore's hack lawyers are allowed to successfully challenge the presidential ballot in the 2000 poll THEN the next one will ALSO be disputed in the court room, and on, and on.... And such a prospect will further discourage the American constituency from going to the polling booth. Indeed, people will say, "Oh, why the hell waste our time in voting for those finaglers --the loser's gonna contest the winner before the court ANYWAY!"

This is a test case: whatever the outcome of the manual recounts, IT SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT for the sake of all the USA's future ballots --unless US authorities can find a way to make a nationwide election 100% "skulduggeryproof"....

Bottom line: in a healthy democracy, it's not up to the court of justice to tell the people whom they've voted for....

Gus.

Judge: Fla. Can Reject Late Votes

By ANNE GEARAN, Associated Press Writer

dailynews.yahoo.com

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - A Florida judge said Friday that Secretary of State Katherine Harris (news - external web site) is acting within her authority in refusing to accept hand-counted presidential votes tallied after last Tuesday in the crucial state. Al Gore, counting on those recounts, prepared an appeal.

The Democrats have contended that Harris acted arbitrarily in deciding to ignore revised counts from several counties. But Judge Terry Lewis said in a brief ruling, ``I disagree.''

``Florida law grants to the secretary, as the chief elections officer, broad discretionary authority to accept or reject late filed returns,'' Lewis said.

In a written reaction, Harris said she was pleased by the ruling.

So am I! And Mr Al Gore should understand that if a winner of any election is later proved a "cheater" then it's up to the voters ONLY to punish him in the next poll....

Giving
you the heads up again: The enemy plans to make a bunch

of useless noise again next weekend at the locations below.

We heard a lot of folks from our side (you know - the red

area people) telling our opposition which lake they can

jump in. For those planning to hold counter demonstrations

against the leftist, please make sure to bring your OWN

cameras, and take your own photos. It's much less stressful

than trying to get the State-Sponsored Media to give you

a fair shake.

There have been those asking what they can do, as well as

numerous requests to call numbers and protest. If its a

call of protest you have to make, I would only make three

- to my congressional representative and my two State Senators

and tell them "I will not support

or submit to an illegally seated government." Don't

ask them to do anything for you. Just tell them what you're

NOT going to do. 20 to 50 million calls of that nature might

convince a few people in Washington to slap some sense into

Al Gore's head - not that it will work anyway.

Your analysis raises the issue of what would constitute a fair and honest election...........revote, retally by hand, no more tallies, revote in palm county, .....what is the solution?..everyone has their own agenda . A nonpartial force is needed to make the crucial decision.
