These systems may be using PC600 RDRAM, the slowest and cheapest form of RDRAM. I'm actually surprised the P4 systems are priced as low as News.com reported. I thought they would be more expensive. But as someone pointed out we don't know what the specs are for the other stuff in the computer.

Even though the Athlon was significantly larger than the PIII last year it had competitive pricing.
