What do people think of the new name for the combined Phone.com and Software.com (started trading this week): OpenWave (OPWV). "Launch of Openwave Marks the Powerful Combination of Phone.com And Software.com " quicken.excite.com Got a raft of analyst coverage too. The new name is rather boring and generic. Doesn't exactly stick in the neurons. Sounds like a Lucent or HP spinoff that makes laser printer cartridges. But they had to ditch both of those dot.com names pretty sharpish in order to stay on the investing map. I'd have prefered something like Communication Inc, or SoftwareOne. Their new website is cool though: openwave.com Here's the exec team: openwave.com We need to merge the SWCM and PHCM message boards now as well.
