Lisa, your initiative in chasing down the facts on what Avanex is already putting in place for gear is appreciated, in spite of people in the industry's claim to the contrary. Message #1034 from LJM at Nov 17, 2000 1:21 PM As I recall there has been discussion here re: Gilder and Crowe's <LVLT CEO> alleging that false statements were made in his GTR. Specifically, Crowe alleged in his letter 360netowrks could not have lit 10,000 of its 20,000 miles in North America with 1600 NT/AVNX waves at 10 Gbps because the product is not available until late 2001. I asked Investor Relations to confirm or deny Gilder's statement in the GTR. This was the response I received this morning. Judge for yourself. Dear Lisa, Yes, we have lit 10,000 miles of network in North America. In certain areas of our network where we expect high traffic we have lit the network with the Nortel 1600 series.
