Politicians are supposed to do what is best for the country regardless of public opinion. That's called leadership. It's also called fascism in some circles. ... Mezz - But it's OK if I get to decide what's best.

Politicians are supposed to do what is best for the country regardless of public opinion. I can finally see, after wiping away the tears. It must be me then -- it just looks like they are serving their own personal interests, and the interests of their financial handlers then. I guess all that oil, tobacco, NRA, and conservative Christian money flowing to the GOP is to help make sure that politicians aren't swayed by what the people think is right, and stay the course of what really is best for the country. <VBG>
