Dear Long-gone: Yes, as you know Gore is a big ecologist fan but I think some of his programs or ideas are misdirected. For instance one of his plans is to completely close ALL PARKS such as Yellowstone etc to motor traffic. To enter one would park outside and ride in on an electric powered bus. I have been to nearly every park in the lower 48 of a National Status and I can tell you that just wont work if one wishes to really FEEL the great outdoors. And without ones vehicle one has no way to bring with them things like liquids, snacks and the like thus further limiting ability to move around. In the West, in the summer one needs to drink about a quart of water AN HOUR like to see how much you can carry on the bus and then only get to see limited stops. JDN
