Puck,

Re: CDMA "Communicator"; the Kyocera QCP 6035 Smartphone

<< New Palm PDA-maker: Kyocera >>

I think I have just found my next phone cum PDA.

As you know, I am highly enamored with the Symbian 32-bit platform, and the 3 Symbian reference designs. Unfortunately they are GSM-centric at the moment, and for one that travels the CDMA-centric US, it will be some time before I can consider one.

In addition I am a Palm Vx user and finding WAP highly limited, use my Verizon CDMA tri-mode as a 14,4 kbps modem, and take advantage of the data compression and data optimization offered by AvantGo, and ProxiNet.

The mew Kyocera Smartphone, is a "Completely Integrated Wireless Communications Solution".

It is a Palm Powered Trimode Handset Unites Voice Communications, Text Messaging, Wireless E-mail and Three Different Methods of Web Access.

* Palm OS v3.5 and 8 MB

* Commercial availability of the Kyocera Smartphone is expected in the first quarter of 2001.
