Baratta's attorney, Alan Exelrod, said the jury also found that Oracle retaliated against Baratta after she complained about remarks about pregnant executives made to her by Executive Vice President Gary Bloom. Baratta was five months pregnant when she was fired. The remarks in question were made by Bloom before he knew Baratta was pregnant, Exelrod said. Baratta, Oracle's former vice president of global alliances, was fired in April 1999 by Bloom after she raised concerns with him about SAP software access, Exelrod said.
