I knew what you were talking about being the building.

The drive to Death Valley was just a little over 2 hours. Went north beyond to drive back down into the valley. Impressive! Then made the climb up to this peak (wish I could remember the name) to get the view from above. Walked up to a overlook that shouldn't be tried when you are a fat man from WI. Felt like I was elk hunting in CO. Anyhow, sat on a rock outcropping with my feet hanging in the air about 5300 above the floor of the valley. Truly wanted to stay and see the sunset but had to get back to meet for dinner. Sunrises are supposed to be something else out there and highly recommended by photography folks.

I wish I would have known you would have had an interest in that. Just 2 of us in the car and could have easily taken others. I am really not much of a gambler but love exploring. Vegas is a great place. Going back after Thanksgiving next year as it is about 1/3 the price of the trip we just took. Back to Death Valley and over to the Grand Canyon on that trip.
