I was looking at that trip. Friend of mine was on it several years ago. Said the trail they used was so narrow in places that you took your inside stirrup and hung it and your leg over the horn. Other leg was hanging out into space.

I've spent a lot of time on horses and trust them much better then my own feet on just about any terrain. Don't know if I am that trusting though.

I was thinking about the helicopter dump that another friend of mine took out there on the Indian reservation. Overnight on the river with some hiking and fishing, then educational tour of the res with lunch on a outcropping where you are sitting looking right over the canyon. Sounded like quite a time.
