If I were a justice on the Florida State Supreme Court, I would write an opinion directing a hand recount throughout the State. I would dispose of the argument that hand counts are inherently inferior to machine counts because a machine almost always undercounts and the law recognizes the superiority of hand counts by sanctioning them under Florida law. Since they are allowed, the Secretary of State abused her discretion by totally ruling them out. The Florida law allowing recounts must be given a construction which renders it constitutional rather than unconstitutional. If hand counts are allowed in only some counties, the voters in the other counties are denied equal protection of the laws. Therefore, I would order a hand recount throughout the State. This is not a prediction - Just a statement of how I see the case from a legal perspective.

No A-1!!!! It's not even allowed in this house. Ammo wants me to buy it but I refuse. I thought of forbidding him to see those friends who introduced him to it, of calling the parents and accusing them of corrupting my innocent child, but I suppose he has to learn to withstand temptations. When you are 21 and live in your own apartment, and can afford your own food, you can buy it, I tell him. It's good to know that I am also ecologically, as well as gourmetically, correct. (Do you like that word? I made it up.)
