reportedly the voter turnout was better than last time around...although still no great shakes historically. it's obvious that most people are disenchanted with the political system and its proponents per se...a kind of weary cynicism has taken hold. and one can't really hold that against anyone...after all, it seems that the ruling elite and the prison-industrial complex have everything nicely under control, thank you very much. as the sun is setting on the empire, the danger of democracy running into a dead end becomes graver and graver...
