Hi Greg,

I've been an independent since the Eighties, with a brief stint in the CA Green Party as an original member of that party, hoping to allow a new voice on the ballot. What we need is an honest debate about the future of this country. What we've got instead, as Gore Vidal has so insightfully stated, is a dogfight between the two right wings of the Corporate Party.

For example, if this country really wanted to deal with an energy policy, what we'd do is to legislate SUVs and Winnebagos out of existence. What a joke that we have to torture our entire foreign policy as we snivel before petty dictators and monarchs in the Mid-east in order to continue our out of control excesses of personal luxury, while ruining our balance-of-trade position and weakening our strategic global position. Neither party has any interest in touching that third-rail issue in any serious fashion. It would be like trying to take candy away from a spoiled brat.

Best, Ray

TraderGreg,

You're still going, just like the everyready bunny <s>

I got a kick out of the Republican argument in Federal Court today, arguing for the Federal Court to step in to State issues.....I thought those guys wanted less Federalism and more State's Rights. It's hard to keep up sometimes...Federal Court, of course, said the State Supreme Court can handle it.

BTW: Gore is picking up absentee votes in Palm Beach county [more so than Bush].

Cheers,
