What do you mean he's not Hot? At 40, evp at ORCL with fortune after 14yrs under Larry. He was the first one Leslie contacted 6 months ago when he was looking for his replacement. VRTS is small enough and growing, there's no direct conflict with ORCL, so he'll get Larry's blessing too. Wouldn't you jump ship when ceo position from VRTS comes up?

It is clear gc you are not here to provide any information of note. You are here to provide misinformation intended to create a negative view of whatever topic you pick whether it be next Q's numbers, growth in database biz, or Bloom's departures. All of your comments have been off the mark

ORCL has not reported that its numbers this Q would not be good yet you come here to state otherwise. See Message 14835920

On last month's call Henley clearly told analysts not to expect it database biz to maintain a 32% growth rate like it did the previous Q and guided them down to a more realistic level around 20%, yet you come here repeating essentially the same but couch it as "slowing" as if it (1) was the beginning of a long trend, which it really is just a return to a growth rate precedent to last Q's phenomenal growth in database as well as (2) new news; it ain't; it old, just like your antics. Message 14836240

Last, but not least, you come here to magnify whatever fear one may hold by Bloom's departure by making claims of which you really have no clue. You question whether the future of ORCL's e-business effort; Message 14836303; that "he is running for cover" Message 14836413; and finally that he's leaving not because of an opportunity to be the CEO of a very important, well-positioned company, but rather that he is bailing ship. Message 14836631

All I can say, gc, is give it a rest. Many here know your game, and if anything, you lose credibility here with each post. If you really wish to argue that this latest news is so negative for ORCL I strongly recommend that you first get your facts straight about what has already been said, what has not been said, and what Gary Bloom is all about and the most likely reason he left, and the fact that most on the Street recognize that once you get beyond Larry Ellison, ORCL packs a very strong, very deep bench worthy of a top NBA franchise. So many talented people have come up the ranks of ORCL and left to build upon their careers, not hide for cover. Bloom is no different.

Secondly, after you get your fact straight, formulate some original thought here on why you think the way you do aside from your short position in the stock. Maybe then you might get some respect. But right now you're nothing but a pest.
