You guys have really got to stop printing the whole of our stories, you know. It's a breach of intellectual property...

Even tempered JC lashes out!

I have a suggestion. Perhaps you could invent a totally bogus story, like, P4 scheduled for 3ghz in March, and lard it with some official sounding bogus sources. You know, sources at Intel's Oregon pilot .13um line or something. See if the esteemed Mr. Thomas picks it up, then blow his cover.

That's not a totally serious suggestion, especially as some Register reporters are known to frequent SI, but it would be good for a laugh.

I think it's fair to say that Mike Magee is missed by many around here. Andrew Thomas seems set on a path toward pure shilldom. I especially appreciated his Rambus tribute of a few days back.

Rambus, despite its undoubted performance edge over cheaper memory technologies is still viewed as overpriced by some observers. (http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/3/14759.html)

Of course, other observers have been known to enjoy paying money for nothing.

Cheers, Dan.

Intel fouls up two years in a row

Intel must be quite eager to put the 20th century behind it, given that this is the second calendar year in a row that it has a) suffered the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune or b) fouled up on its strategy, that answer depending on whether you believe in kismet or kiss-ass.

"This guy {ed:Andrew Thomas} is like Mike Magee's evil twin brother. I liked Mike Magee. Now he has been destroyed. :( "

Only question is; Cameo or full-time role?
