That's interesting, you seem so confident about SPEC scores but you aren't willing to guess how the P4 will do on other applications.

My guess is Intel will have a few benchmarks that show the P4 is faster and AMD will have a few benchmarks that show the Athlon is faster, even with a 300MHz handicap.

Now what would be REALLY funny is if the Athlon is faster than the P4 in a 3d rendering (heavy FPU use) application even though the P4 is likely to have a much higher SPECfp score. But SPECfp is supposed to be reflective of performance in other software apps so chances are this won't happen, right?

You never know, Florida's Supreme Court is supposed to rule on Monday. Actually, we'll have benchmarks once it hits midnight Monday so we'll be ok for a few hours. ;)
