well...almost time to water the tree again, no? :) seriously though, i should have made a little clearer what i meant: not that every dirty trick in the book should be employed...but meet the challenges with SIMILAR challenges...they want to re-count heavily democratic leaning counties, fine. you insist on recounting the heavily Republican leaning ones. find a few 'confused' Republicans who 'voted for Schmitzinsky because the ballot was so confusing' in a different county. SHOW them up for the hypocrites they are by their reaction to such a development. and so on, blow by blow...
if nothing else, it would make for a more entertaining fight...

I pray that one or more of you would look at the film "Key Largo"

starring Edward G. Robinson, Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, and

Lionel Barrymore. To recall it, in one scene Chicago crime boss

kingpin Johnny Rocko ( Robinson ) brags that he controls politics

and politicians in the Windy City. Bacall blithely asks how this

is done. To which, Rocko replies, "Simple, we keep counting and

recounting the votes until we get the 'right' result."

Imagine an advert featuring Bill Daly, Democrat Chairman and son
of

Chicago's biggest political cheater, former Mayor Daly. Bill Daly

is demanding a hand recount so that the "will of the people" be
done.

Then, the scene above from "Key Largo" is played afterward. What
an

impact!

Cobalt, you really like to fire off the rough stuff don't you? "Water the tree with blood"....what a crock. The last time I heard much of that kind of talk was as a young man back in the late 50's when these redneck idiots here (mostly ignorant white "sharecropper" class) were proclaiming that we needed to prepare for the coming "race war". The war never came of course and here in my area integration was accomplished without a hint of a problem (schools integrated years ahead of schedule). And even in those bygone "preinternet" days the nutballs were all "networked" just as effectively as Limbaughs "dittoheads" are today. You know I don't think this country has a very good record of internal dispute resolution by "blood", the main example being the civil war. I come from a family with nearly two dozen Confederate veterans so I guess I am understandably biased but when you start talking about "blood", "tyrants" and "patriots" and inside the boundaries of this country it makes me wonder what you imply. "Pushed too far"? I for one would love to refight the civil war but unfortunately my region has been too heavily "infiltrated" with those from the upnorth in recent years. WSR
