I would like to give you a taste of the latest burning issue in our own national election campaign here in Canada. As you know, Prime Minister Jean Chretien is seeking re-election in 10 days to a 3rd term (somewhat early) and his nearest rival is a newcomer named Stockwell Day. (Chretien's Liberal party is closest to your Democratic party, and Stockwell is a verrrrry right wing Republican counterpart.
