Maybe you are not a Microsoft investor.>>

I have been on and off but I didn't get caught in the downdraft. I've always admired Gates and didn't think he got a fair break when much was made of his comments regarding charity and religion. However, whenever the government acts some will be on the side gaining & some on the side losing. That is the nature of government in it's totality which balances the needs of different groups of people. Other investors gained from the MSFT case.

I'm not sure that a Bush administration will make a difference keeping in mind 19 states also were involved. In fact from my reading the states seem more hardcore than the Federal government. 17 of the 19 states held out for a structural remedy during the mediation before Posner.

I also heard Bush during an interview when asked about the case note that people shouldn't draw any conclusions. After all Barksdale, a key government asset is a close friend.

Lastly, not that it particularly matters but I always find it ironic that Mark Tobey, assistant AG for Texas was one of the prime movers in the early case against MSFT. Rich
