My mistake...last I had heard was that the Gore campaign was not going to appeal but wait until Harris made the certification and then was going to challenge.

No mistake made.

In the event, the Florida State Supreme Court acted on its own motion in halting the certification and was not replying to a motion filed by the Dems, who were going to wait for the certification to proceed before "contesting" it, rather that attempt a preliminary "protest". The Supreme Court's decision to enjoin the Secretary of State from certifying the result was imposed so that no false perception of finality would be allowed. Oral arguments are to held on Monday, the court will then have a period of days to make its decision.
