Yes - it's true. From WSJ:

"Another step the company has taken into the physical world this season is sending out 10 million catalogs to consumers. "We are testing new methods of marketing. If this works well for us, we will be very happy indeed," Mr. Bezos said."

Amazon could also face higher labor costs if it's workers are successful at unionizing - in the CNBC interview on Friday, Bezos tried to downplay this, claiming that Amazon workers were already treated very well and therefore, the workers don't need the protection of a union:
