Frank I hope you are wrong about the 20 years of resentment.

Look at the bright side
this debacle will bring greater scrutiny on all elections, I know were i live this would be a godsend my county is so corrupt that Republicans don't even run

I'm scared of what Gore will do (if elected) Its not good to want anything this bad

Frank: Revisit post #79088. Hand counts have been used several times this decade, some to the benefit of Republican candidates. Nothing illegal, unethical or outside the scope of the law by employing hand counts.

You also said: "This election will have impact and resentment for 20+ years. Gore may very well steal this election but in the end he and the democrat party will be the losers."

Perhaps Gore, if he is the chosen one, will become an over-achiever and achieve greater popularity than Clinton.

Re: the ultimate outcome: Your best bet obviously is the U.S. Supreme Court, where three ultra-right-wingers already reside (Rehnquist, Scalia and Thomas). Pick up two more votes and Bush becomes the next president.
