They are still more accurate than hand counting the ballots. Without looking at the data, I can almost guarantee you that hand counting would produce far more errors than machines who's accuracy is 0000.1%.

Let me see if I can use an analogy to illustrate my point... If you had a large can of jelly beans and ten people counted them. How many people do you think would agree?

Machines were put in place because they ARE more accurate than human beings in counting ballots. Without even considering all the issues related to chads. And they are objective.
