As far as proof of what that Op/ed piece alleges - their have been numerous articles out there, not only describing potentially fraudulent actions, but also several that note that what is going on in FLA flies in the face of all laws of statistical probability.

Some of the swings in the recount, county by county, which have not been attributed to initial mathematecal error, simply are too far outside the norm not to raise huge question marks with anyone well versed in mathematical study and statistical probability.

Now, before anyone accuses me of being simply partisan - let me say that I believe there are errors and fraud everywhere. That is the nature of an election. Anyone who says there side does not cheat or try to take unfair advantage of circumstances just has blinders on. But if you ask me, its pretty apparent based on mathematical, annecdotal and other evidence that in Florida, the Democrats are simply doing a far better job of cheating, especially in this recount in areas their partisan supporters control than the Republicans.

This is a fitting punctuation mark by the past eight year administration, and a chilling, demoralizing segue should it's legacy continue.

OT ... Everyone may want to skip this one

Mav, I don't post often, mostly I read and your recent Bananna Republican rants make reading much more interesting ...

"IMO, a little bit of democracy dies each day they keep tarnishing this great nation of ours"

I would hypothesize that perhaps you truly do not understand what the word democracy means, nor what it took to achieve it, nor what has made this nation great .. democracy is not declaring yourself President with a 300 vote lead and thousands of mail in ballots yet to be counted because it is "important to me personally" as Gov. Bush stated last weekend when questioned about moving forward with his transition. Democracy is the American people speaking and being heard; all of them, each and every one ... even those whose voices certain individuals would muffle, stifle or ignore.

What has made our nation great is our people ... all of them ... and to lose sight of this is to lose sight of what is truly important here .... the American people being heard ... not 2 politicians driven by ego.

"For someone who goes by the handle "American Spirit", to write off facts to a "disinformation campaign to try and make Gore look like a traitor" and "the image of gore stealing from the military is a real good one - a real hoot too" makes you unworthy to have that handle."

Didn't we have enough of this in the Nixon years .... anyone who does not see eye to eye is labeled unAMERICAN? Is it your birthright to define just who loves and cares about American more? Sadly, it would seem you believe so. I would suggest your forefathers believed otherwise; they believed in dissenting thought as beneficial to the greater good.

The simple fact is that the Democrats insisted that the LAWS of Florida regarding mail in votes be followed ... ALL mail in votes. Is this any different than the Secretary of Florida insisting that she had to finalize the vote by 5pm on Tuesday because it is Florida LAW? Or do you suggest the law only be followed when it suits your personal agenda?

"If you want to back a crook, fine - and if you want to be partisan, fine, but don't dispute clear cut facts that ALL of the major media have reported"

Mav, is this the same media whom Gov. Bush and most of the Republican party despise? The same media whom Karen Hughes is manipulating to make us believe that there is pandemonium in the streets of Florida when all we are witnessing is democracy in action? I find these attempts to pit one group of Americans against another to be dangerous. Do you believe every "fact" you're fed while riveted to your boob tube? Believe every word of "fact" you read without thought to the underlying meaning or intent, without any attempt to decipher what is being "fed" to you?

Much of what I have witnessed these past 10 days is sad .. underlying themes of racism, anti-Semitism, denigrating the elderly. Why? Because of an extraordinarily close election result? These same people being denigrated and pitted against eachother are those who made America the great nation it is; I find any attempt to stifle their words or votes truly unAMERICAN regardless of where that attempt originates. These are the people whose blood was shed on foreign soil, the people who built the greatest industrial power in history, the people who ensured your ability and mine to have elections and our voices heard.

I, for one, thank each and every one of them whether I agree with them or not.
