I don't know who you are talking about when you say extremely intelligent but i'll tell you why I voted for Gore. It wasn't because I like Gore or think he will make an exceptionally good president. It was more of a vote against Bush.

I was registered republican for eight years in the eighties and then switched back to democrat. I forget exactly why but it probably had something to do with Reagan or Daddy Bush. I have always voted a split ticket. This time I think I voted for 3 republicans, all on the county level.
