For the benefit of the non-French speaking people, here is the translation of the accompanying text for the MORNING STAR formation on the COMPX.
At this address:
chandeliers.nexen.net

"The figure is perfect. The white chandelier closes more than half of the black chandelier. It will suffice to have a rising closing for the reversal to be confirmed. The DOJI appeared out of the Bollinger Band. Yet, as in Oct 92 and Jan 96, RSI and MACD are not oversold and do not confirmed the formation. We are in a "normal" market as many technical indicators show and we live in a highly negative environment - up until today. We see the absence of oversold indicators as it a secondary tool for interpretation.
And written in red:
To conclude, it appears that we could well see a major reversal signal. We will wait to close in an up territory to confirmed the formation. Yet it imperative to cover all short and turn long"

Faro,

>>>> I found this on a French Site: chandeliers.nexen.net
It basically says that a MORNING STAR has formed on the NAZ ......Can somebody comment on this possible formation? For, if it is true -- we're in for the jump of the century! <<<<

MORNING DOJI STARs have strong reliability. In a previous INDEX UPDATE, I had also concluded that due to the MORNING DOJI STAR that I felt it may have set the bottom, for the reason of its reliability. However, I just turn less bullish/more bearish in light of the recent developments.

Although MORNING DOJI STARs are very reliable, I have seen them fail. Per the URL you gave, go to the chart for 1990 when the NAZ was around 1000(JAN). You will notice that right after the MORNING STAR it had a small rally which failed and produced a LOWER LOW, before the strong rally into FEB. Also in the next to last chart, in DEC around 435 there was a MORNING DOJI STAR which produced a good rally only to fail and produce a selloff of about double the gain of the previous rally.

Dont get me wrong, MORNING DOJI STARs/ABANDONED BABYs are very reliable candlestic formations and many more succeed than fail. Since I dont read French, I am unable to comment further on their analysis.

Thanks for that website, since it does show the effectiveness of the MORNING DOJI STAR.
