Hi, I think the Florida Supreme Court had to intervene in order to put this thing to rest. If the certification was made today for Bush, Gore would have appealed to the SC anyway. So they just circumvented that part of the process.

Morning Voltaire: May I add to your Supreme Court Psychology....Dade County will take from 7 to 10 days to recount which puts even more pressure on the Supremes.

ZZZZ

Good Morning,

I believe that by the Supreme Court stepping in that they effectively cut off any future litigation. If they had not, then Gore could keep this thing going because of Florida not allowing his due process. They have now shut that door. The Supreme Court is also governed by laws that state very clearly, they must find clear evidence of wrong doing by the Secretary of State, clear evidence, not just reasonable doubt. Then secondly they also have to find that the lower court judge clearly, there's that word again, over stepped his authority in his judgement. What's the percentage of that happening? OK, but lets just play that they did, they come out Monday and say Ms Harris, you abused your power and we are not going to allow that to happen, they also say to the judge, we feel she did break your order even if you don't feel she did so you are also repremanded. Now what is the worst they can do with their power and authority? They cannot tell an election official that she "will" take those numbers, they don't have that power, they can tell her that she must consider them before issuing her results but not much else. I really think that they should take away the name Supreme Court and call them High Court of Florida, High Court of America, because the name Supreme is confusing in the fact that it sounds like they have more power than they actually do have...

wb (What a way to start a Saturday morning)

Where never is heard,
a discouraging word,
and the skies are not cloudy all daaay....

I love this place...
Why does it remind me of back home on the range?...

Thanks for the lift, Tom...I like your scenario best.

Regards,

jj
