I think I missed part of the discussion. IF the FL electoral vote issue is NOT resolved by the time Congress opens the next session, why would a Republican Congress allow the Presidential winner to be decided without FL? Right now, unless something changes in OR or NM, the winner would be Gore...if FL abstained.

Was there another issue you were addressing? (I assume you were responding to post 2533 re: the 1876 precedent where Hayes needed all those disputed votes to beat Tilden by 1 and the electoral commission gave him those votes...prior to those votes being allocated, Tilden was winning)

Suggestion to all..we're firing off posts so fast that I'm not always sure to which original post a respondent is responding.

Maybe we should include part of the original post or match the response up to not only the name, but the post number to keep things straight.
