Powerful stuff, Jill. I read both links. There are some strong messages in there counter to much we take as conventional wisdom. One that popped out at me was that money is made at the sell, not at the buy. So much to absorb...and filter.

Regarding too-frequent trading, I have consolidated into QCOM and much lesser amounts of RMBS and others, much like this time last year when I went into only QCOM and JDSU. The only two trades I have made in the past week were an extension of margin to buy more QCOM @ 84 1/16, when it looked like it had firmly stepped above 80...and, yesterday I traded PWER for more RMBS...This trade cost me no net cash for the same number of shares.

Regarding Two of the cardinal sins of trading - giving losses too much rope and taking profits prematurely - I find that I will give a RMBS or a QCOM more rope than than a smaller capitalized stock...I will also take profits on a smaller stock sooner than I would these two. This is all so confusing...not unlike the election.

Thanks for sharing all this with us. It helps in reviewing why we do things and, just perhaps, will dampen the emotional click finger on the buy/sell button...jj
