If you hold up Bush as a standard bearer, service in the military isn't a real good place to go.

Is there a point to your question? There has been demeaning of the military.

No, and it was no accident either. I stood at the back of Vietnam protest rallies where I could smell the tear gas but not get hit by stones or batons. I did however perform my part in developing the tools and weapons used by the military and have been in bases and areas that I doubt they would let you march through.
