OK I've thought of a cute and scary story.

We were dairy farming and my oldest was about 3. I was milking and Kristy was feeding. She told me to watch Amanda while she went out to feed the calves. I changed a milker from one cow to the next and turned to A who was no longer there. As I changed the next milker I called several times and was beginning to be concerned. I then noticed that the door up on the far end of the barn was open leading to the cow yard and manure pit.

I yelled for Kristy and out we went expecting to find the kid in the liquid manure pond or something.

You know how your mind runs away from you?

After a few tense moments I looked in the heifer shed where the first calf heifers were penned and saw that they were all standing in a circle looking at something. I ran over there to find 35 1200 to 1500 pound animals gathered around leaving about a 4' diameter circle in the middle. In that little bare spot sat Amanda with an 80 pound just born heifer calf on her lap all full of, well you know.

She looks up at me after I wade through the animals and proudly proclaimed that she had her first baby and it was a girl!

It was very difficult to remain angry for her running off or for being in a pen she was not supposed to be in:)
