I have to give you credit for trying to defend your position on THIS board. I would never try to defend either party as I think professional politicians are a fairly sleazy bunch to begin with. Too much money is required to fund the process to not be beholding to special interest groups. I am an independent who voted for Bush because I believe he was the best choice of the available candidates. Not the best man, the best choice. I think Gore made a serious mistake in having Daily as his front man. With the history of the Daily name, Gore lost credibility from the get go. I've noticed that Daily has since gone to the sideline. The Dems do seem to have the most mean-spirited attack dogs on public display. The attacks I heard on Harris were way out of bounds IMO. She is well within the boundaries of her job, if there is a question of her partisanship, then seek legal remedies. Public and personal attacks detract from the process and further polarize the two sides. Either way, I think the debate is healthy and maybe the American people will finally become interested in the political process.
