Does the law require the person requesting the ballot to write on the number or can someone else look at their registration and put the number on for them? Hmmm?" Under the law, as interpreted by the SOS, only the voter or close family may provide information on the absentee ballot application. The interesting part is that this opinion was delivered well before the current controversy when any bias was absent. Both the R's and the D's have interpreted this to mean that they may supply applications with preprinted voter information. However, the R's screwed up and left off the voter registration ID #. CNN TV reports that the acts in this situation were a felony. That doesn't sound trivial to me. The law placing strict requirements on absentee ballot processes was adopted after the signifcant fraud in the Miami election where major fraud caused all of the absentee ballots to be disqualified.
