Dixiecrat...Ha.Cobalt that got me to thinking. How many 20, 30 40 something "dittoheads" know what a Dixiecrat is? Do they have any idea that the Republican SAINT Strom Thurmond was once the leader of one of the nastiest political cults to ever appear in this country? And that now Saint Strom has been rehabilitated and is now one of the great republican "heros"? Do they know ANYTHING about his REAL past? I doubt it. In fact the numerous "orges" who have inhabited the ranks of the modern American right wing, how much do they know? Nothing. They can tell you all about "whitewater" but they know NOTHING about destructive rightwing meddeling in China BEFORE 1949. They can tell you about Reagan the lifeguard but know nothing about his (and Nancy's) long term involvement with Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos. But to their discomfort they may learn something new; if Bush is elected watch for stories about the Nugan-Hand Bank scandal, any Aussies here will know what I am talking about. There is a connection between Bush and this affair, and it makes "whitewater" look like the unimportant diversion that it was. WSR

>Yes, I wonder why Jesse Jackson isn't leading a demonstration to
>protect the voting rights of our military? LOL!

Actually, I feel strongly that anyone who does not pay taxes should not be allowed to vote. A person who is a leech on society, and contributes nothing, should have no say so in how the country is run.

Nobody argues that children under 18 living under their parent's roof, eating their parent's food, spending their parent's money, should be allowed ANY say so in making the rules for the household.

Yet for some reason immigrants and welfare abusers are allowed to vote MY MONEY into their pockets?

I'd like to bring up my favorite quote about democracy:

"Democracy is an inherently unstable form of government. It can only exist until a majority of the population realizes it can vote the largesse of the rest of the population into their own pockets."
