Postmarks are made by the originating post office, which has NOTHING to do with the date the letter arrives at the destination. The chief postmaster for the USS Kennedy Aircraft carrier submitted an affidavit today stating that most military ships do not issue postmarks.

Therefore, most votes from navy personel cannot be counted under the law.

The law must make an exception, or else you must admit the law makes it impossible for many naval servicemen to vote.

-------------------------------------
"Under state law, ballots without postmarks are not counted, since it can't be determined if the ballot arrived prior to the deadline."
Should this law be changed at this time?

You didn't give a URL for the quotation, I don't think you got it from me.

Overseas military ballots which arrived on or before November 7 don't need a deadline, do they?

As for the ones which arrived after Nov. 7, I think that for the ones for which there is other clear and convincing evidence that they were timely, they should be counted.

LOL, it's just 'ducky' and a little funny when little old lady's are confused by a ballot and vote for Buchanan instead of Gore... ho ho too bad. But when the capt. of the ship screws up HIS PEOPLE's votes.... woa... call out the national guard! This whole thing is just classic. Get rid of that stupid electoral college ASAP please!
