Re: Unfortuneately Jr. Bush does not agree. He thinks that a manual recount should be given a preference and he signed in 1997 the Texas Law that says so:

"A manual recount shall be conducted in preference to an electronic recount." Sec. 212.005 (d)

Please forgive me but what does Texas law have to do with this election?

Are these the regs in Texas you refer to?

Poor old Dubya, he signed the law, but he didn't write it.

Windosck,

While your description of the comparison between Florida's law and that of Texas is somewhat accurate. It missed the most important differentiator. Laws passed by Republicans are good laws while those passed by Democrats are bad laws. This truth was quite clearly demonstrated this year when a Democrat in the House submitted proposed legislation which was promptly dismissed by the majority and then resubmitted for consideration by a Republican member of the House, when it promptly passed.

Also, the further use of "steal" is no longer considered proper, this goes to the fact of the various setbacks suffered by the Republicans in the courts...it is difficult to steal something when the courts go against you. It is my understanding that in the future conservatives should be using the phrase fundamentally flawed when referring to the manual count. It sounds more legal. Please note however that the previous rule of the first paragraph remains unchanged.

Your understanding and cooperation is appreciated. <s>
