It Seems That Man's Willingness To Act In Ways Which Bring Pain To Himself and Others Has A Much Longer History Than That

I have no reason to believe that pain and hunger felt any different 8,000 years ago than they do today. Nor does it seem that there is any lack of precedent for self destructive human behavior.

A mother's pain at the death of her son is no different if that son was killed by a rock or a laser guided missile.

A father's pain at not being able to feed his children is not different if that inability derives from global economic or social policies or from a single thief stealing all his property.

<. But it is really MUCH less than that; about ONE lifetime since we began to profoundly change the world in new and unpredictable ways>

Look at your average diet and lifestyle changes... gee I wonder why obesity is exploding in the states???
